Holiday Season Highlights

⚽️🌲Ambassador Didier Drogba celebrates Christmas by giving back

Football legend and Global Ambassador for Special Olympics, Didier Drogba, wished the world a Merry Christmas by giving back to his community in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

In a video he posted on his Instagram, Drogba can be seen wearing a red Christmas hat and singing in French along with the children. He made the day special for children by giving them gifts.

🤶🏾Special Olympics Gambia shares Christmas cheer with The American Corner gifts

Special Olympics Gambia showed the world what Christmas looks like — with smiles and laughs!

The American Corner organized and hosted a Christmas party for the students of the Methodist Special and the Special Olympics Gambia to celebrate and share the memorable moments of Christmas.

The day featured Mother Christmas with children on her lap, presents and sweets.

Special Olympics Youth Leaders Continue Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s Legacy of Inclusion

The next cohort of Special Olympics Youth Leaders is here!

A total of 108 Youth Leaders will participate in the Youth Innovation Project Initiative, where they are becoming the living legacy of Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s bold vision of inclusion and lasting social change.

Diversity and Unity: Everything you need to know about the Berlin 2023 logo

The Berlin 2023 logo represents diversity & unity. It aims to spread joy, power and togetherness!

Special Olympics athletes are the creators of the Games and this is reflected directly in the logo.

With the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, the aim was to achieve exactly this! Break down walls in people’s minds and raise awareness for unification and diversity.

4 Lessons Special Olympics Global Messenger takes into 2022

‘2021 lessons become 2022 impact’, that’s according to Special Olympics Sargent Shriver International Global Messenger, Hanna Joy Atkinson.

Hanna shared four lessons that she learned from the year 2021, which she plans to implement in this new year of 2022.

“I learned it is better to be humble and to do something for someone else. My grandmother taught me that praying at breakfast is giving thanks to God and this helps me get a humble mindset each morning.” Hanna said.
